5 Things to Know Today, Oct. 8, In Montgomery County

Today is Friday, Oct. 8 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Rockville Bike Drive:  The county transportation department is holding a bike donation event Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Council Office Building parking garage at the corner of East Jefferson Street and Monroe Street.

2. MyMCMedia’s Friday Night Lights Game of the Week features a battle between two undefeated football teams: 5-0 Northwest vs 5-0 Sherwood at 6:30 pm. Both teams are ranked in the area’s top 20. Follow @TravisDC95 on Twitter for live scoring updates.

3. Little Free Library:  The city of Gaithersburg has its’ fourth little free library located at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn off Kent Square Raod in the Kentlands. A dedication ceremony will be held Friday at 6 p.m.

4. BlackRock Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month:  The second annual celebration starts with a concert by Jonathan Acosta Friday at 8 p.m. and is followed Saturday with a day of festivities from noon to 10 p.m.

5. East County Community Health Fair:  The Muslim Community Center hosts a health fair Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5200 New Hampshire Ave in Silver Spring.
