5 Things to Know Today, Nov. 10, In Montgomery County

It’s Wednesday, Nov. 10 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Weekly Briefing: County Executive Marc Elrich and health leaders will hold their media briefing at 12:30 p.m. Residents can watch live on MCM channels 21 and 995 (HD), County Cable Montgomery and on the county’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

2. Vaccinations for Children: COVID-19 vaccinations for 5-11-year-olds are underway. Currently, county clinics require appointments. Pharmacies and private physicians also offer the vaccine. See information/appointments here.

3. Job Searching for VeteransFrom 2-3 p.m., job-seeking veterans can learn about key Montgomery County Public Libraries resources. See Zoom information here.

4. Senior Planet: Senior Planet Montgomery continues to offer free Zoom classes to senior residents. Today’s classes include “Messaging Apps” and “Intro to Hosting on Zoom.”

5. ICYMI: Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will now be closed the day before Thanksgiving — Wednesday, Nov. 24. Yesterday, the school board passed a resolution to approve the decision.
