5 Things to Know Today, March 2, In Montgomery County

Today is Tuesday, March 2 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County:

1. County COVID-19 Testing Clinics: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at eight testing sites today.

2. Council in Virtual Session: The Montgomery County Council meets at 9 a.m. and here’s a look at the agenda for the meeting. The meeting will be televised on County Cable Montgomery Channels Comcast HD 996 and SD6, RCN HD 1056 and SD 6, and Verizon 30. Additionally, it will be live-streamed on the council’s Facebook and Youtube channel.

3. Return to School:  Montgomery County Public Schools welcomed about 750 students back to in-person learning Monday.

4. Read Across America Day:  The Children’s Opportunity Fund will host a virtual panel to discuss system, local and individual approaches to reading. The panel discussion takes place today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Register here.

5. Financial Seminar Series:  The Libraries and the Commission for Women have planned a series of four free financial seminars to help women strengthen their financial knowledge and understanding. The first seminar, Financial Planning 101, is scheduled tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Zoom.
