5 Things to Know Today, June 23, In Montgomery County

Today is Wednesday, June 23, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Climate Plan Unveiling: At 1 p.m., Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will unveil the Climate Action Plan that aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 100% by 2035. See more here.

2. Airpark Meeting: From 7-8:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Revenue Authority (MCRA) will hold a virtual community meeting about the airpark. Anticipated topics include airpark history, community concerns and suggested solutions for noise/safety. Register for the meeting here.

3. New Ramp Metering: The state transportation department State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is testing a new ramp metering system in the Germantown area. A new ramp metering traffic signal will be on the ramp from northbound MD 118 to southbound I-270, according to SHA.

4. Coffee With a Cop: From 10-11:30 a.m., join 1st District police officers for coffee and conversation at Filicori Zecchini, located at 12430 Park Potomac Ave. R-3 in Potomac.

5. Hybrid Workplace Workshop: From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Montgomery County is hosting a free, virtual Employer Summit Information Workshop about the new hybrid workplace. Employers can register here.
