5 Things to Know Today, June 22, In Montgomery County

Today is Tuesday, June 22, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. County Council Session:  The Council meets today starting at 9 a.m. The agenda and staff reports may be found online here.

2. Food Assistance: Montgomery County has a food distribution event today at 8921 Warfield Road in Gaithersburg from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Check the county’s website here for more food distribution events this week.

3. Fenton Street Cycletrack Community Meeting:  Montgomery County Department of Transportation is holding a virtual community meeting at 6:30 p.m. to provide an update on the cycletrack project and solicit community feedback on the plan. Registration for the meeting is required. View the plan here.

4. Yard Trim Collection: The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is letting residents know that due to staffing issues with county contractors, yard trim collection is behind schedule. It is still ongoing, so if your yard trim was not collected on your usual day, DEP says to leave materials curbside.

5. Happy 103rd Birthday: North Potomac resident Ida Pearl Green turned 103 years old recently. Her family organized a drive-by birthday car parade. Take a look.
