UPDATED: Winter Storm Warning Issued for Portions of Montgomery County
UPDATED 2 p.m. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Warning for northwest Montgomery County for tonight thru tomorrow afternoon. This area includes Damascus, Germantown and Poolesville, and residents in the northwest part of the county may see between four and eight inches of snow by tomorrow, according to the NWS.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the central and southeast areas of Montgomery County, including Gaithersburg, Olney and Bethesda. These areas of the county may receive between one and three inches of snow tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service.

ORIGINAL STORY The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Montgomery County that is in effect from late tonight through late Tuesday night.
According to the NWS, the precipitation will begin as rain or a rain/snow mix.
Periods of heavy snow are expected. Winds will blow from the northwest between 5 to 10 mph and temperatures are expected in the lower 30s.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel.
