Why Getting Involved with a Chamber of Commerce is Important to Your Business

Breakfast at hotelMost business owners say their schedule is demanding enough without adding one more activity to their busy calendar. So why do so many try to make a commitment to add the time into their schedule to join and actively participate in their local chamber of commerce? Because membership in the local chamber offers numerous benefits and keeps business owners on top of important, ever-changing issues and trends within their community and local marketplace.

Membership with the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) not only brings credibility and visibility to your business, it provides members with great opportunities to get to know new people and expand their prospect base. For example, chamber events – innovative and fun ways to help our members meet potential customers, clients and vendors generate new business leads.

We always say in order to get the most out of your Chamber membership, one needs to GET INVOLVED! In addition to several monthly networking events, we encourage our members to take advantage of one – or more – of our many committees.

The GGCC has five primary committees and a number of supporting subcommittees. It is critical to the health of the Chamber that members have input into the programs and activities, therefore, all GGCC members are encouraged to become involved in the committee of their choice.

Our committees include:

  • Legislative Affairs
  • Economic Development
  • Member Recruitment and Retention
  • Member Programs (Events)
  • Young Professionals Group

Become involved in a committee you care about, that connects you to the information you want and to the people that will enhance the value of your business.

We invite you to discover the GGCC at our Business Networking Before Nine on Tuesday, April 5 from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites / Highlands Conference & Banquet Center, 20260 Goldenrod Lane in Germantown. Come learn more about our committees and experience one of the many networking opportunities we have to help you “increase the value of your business.” For more information on this event and/or to register in advance, visit: www.ggchamber.org.
