Whitman Girls Lacrosse Falls to Delaney 12-6 in MPSSAA State 4A Playoffs
Gaithersburg, Maryland Saturday May 19th 2018 MPSSAA 4A Girls Lacrosse Semifinal
The Whitman girls lacrosse team played the Dulaney Lions of Baltimore County Saturday in the 4A MPSSAA state semifinal at Gaithersburg High School. The Whitman squad played hard but ran into a very good Dulaney goalkeeper who stopped many of the shots the Vikings took, ultimately allowing only six goals. The play by both teams was intense and each team checked the other closely. The stick handling, passing and shot selection showed that both squads were disciplined and well coached.
Whitman’s girls dominated each previous playoff game against Montgomery County opponents in the 4A West region, defeating BCC 15-3, Walter Johnson 12-3, and Wootton 15-3 to become the 4A West Regional Champions this season. The Vikings had an outstanding season and have a bright Lacrosse future.
