What’s Open and What’s Closed on Veterans Day in Montgomery County

UPDATE: MCPS schools observe an early release day for K-8 grades on Nov. 10.

Montgomery County has posted the following holiday schedule for Friday, Nov. 10 in observance of Veterans Day:

• County offices – closed.
• Libraries – closed.
• County liquor stores – all retail stores are open normal hours.
• Recreation – aquatic and community centers open as scheduled; classes and programs will meet as scheduled; all senior programs cancelled, and administrative offices and senior centers closed.
  The Germantown Indoor Swim Center closes at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 and all day Nov. 11 for a swim meet.
• Montgomery Parks – for holiday operating schedule on Parks’ facilities, including Brookside Gardens, ice rinks, tennis centers, trains and carousels, visit www.MontgomeryParks.org.
• Ride On – Ride On will run on a special modified holiday schedule.
• Metrobus – Information available at www.wmata.com.
• Metrorail – Information available at www.wmata.com.
• TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – closed.
• Recycling Center – open normal hours.
• Refuse/recycling pickup – Regular schedule.
• Transfer Station recycling and trash drop-offs – open normal hours.
• The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station – open normal hours.
• Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – free.
• State offices and courts – closed.

The City of Gaithersburg government will observe the following holiday schedule for Veterans Day on Nov. 10:

• All city facilities are closed with the exception of the following facilities:
  • The Robertson Park Youth Center and Olde Towne Youth Center will open from noon to 6 p.m.
  • The Activity Center at Bohrer Park will open from noon to 10 p.m.
  • Casey Community Center and Gaithersburg Aquatic Center will be open as scheduled.
  • The Arts Barn will be open for scheduled performances only.
• The Gaithersburg Police Department Administrative Offices will maintain normal business hours.
• Recycling will be collected as scheduled.

The City of Rockville government will observe the following holiday schedule for Veterans Day on Nov. 10:

• City Hall, the Senior Center and Glenview Mansion will be closed.
• The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be open 6 to 8 p.m.
• Croydon Creek Nature Center will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Recycling and refuse will be collected as usual.
