What’s Open and Closed on Veterans Day in Montgomery County

Montgomery County government has posted the following holiday schedule for Monday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day:

• County offices – Closed.
• Public Libraries – Closed.
• County liquor stores – All retail stores are open normal hours.
• Recreation – Aquatic centers are open. Recreation, and senior centers and administrative offices are closed.
• Montgomery Parks – For holiday operating schedule on Parks’ facilities, including Brookside Gardens, ice rinks, tennis centers, trains and carousels, visit www.MontgomeryParks.org.
• Ride On and Ride On Flex – operates on the special modified holiday schedule.
• Metrorail & Bus –  Information available at www.wmata.com.
• TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – Open.
• TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – Closed.
• Recycling Center – Open normal hours.
• Refuse/recycling pickup – County-provided collection services will slide by one day later than normal. The last pickup will be on Saturday, Nov. 16.
• The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station – Open normal hours.
• Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – Free.
• State offices and courts – Closed.

The City of Gaithersburg government will observe the following holiday schedule for Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11:

• All city facilities are closed with the exception of the following facilities:
  • The Activity Center at Bohrer Park will open from noon to 10 p.m.
  • Casey Community Center will open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for rentals and classes.
  • Youth Centers will open from noon to 6 p.m.
  • The Aquatic Center will open from 5:15 to 8:30 p.m.
• The Gaithersburg Police Department Administrative Offices will open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Recycling will be collected as scheduled.
• The after school program, Magnificent Mondays, is canceled.

The City of Rockville government will observe the following holiday schedule for Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11:

• City Hall, the Rockville Senior Center and Glenview Mansion will be closed.
• The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be closed.
• Croydon Creek Nature Center will be closed.
• All other city facilities will open as usual.
• Recycling and refuse will be collected one day later through the week.
• The city’s Veterans Day ceremony will be held at 11 a.m.
