Celebrate Black History Month with a guided tour of the Josiah Henson Park in Bethesda. The park is open every Saturday in February from noon to 4 p.m. Walk the grounds where Henson toiled as a slave on the Isaac Riley plantation. Josiah Henson provided the inspiration for Harriet Beecher Stowe’s landmark novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Parking is only available just around the corner at the Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center.
Don’t miss the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Open House in Silver Spring. Many events are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. including interactive exhibits, special tours, hands-on activities and more. Visit HERE for details or call 301.713.7258 for information. Olney Theatre extended their production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying through March 21. The musical comedy by Shepherd Mead follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who climbs the corporate ladder from window washer to high-powered executive with the help of a little handbook called “How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.”
