The Countryside Artisans Fall Gallery and Studio Tours is a unique opportunity to take a self-guided driving tour of artist studios and galleries located on farms or barns in the scenic countryside. The tour includes 15 destinations that represent more than 50 fine visual, sculptural, textile and beverage (beer, wine and tea) artists.
The popular Oktoberfest at the Kentlands returns Sunday with a day of food, live music, horse-drawn hay rides, Bavarian dancing and much more.

Friday, Oct. 12
Artist Reception Meet and visit with artists Shanthi Chandrasekar and Susan Goldman at the opening reception for the Immemorial exhibit. The exhibit will be on view in the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery through Dec. 7. Contra Dance Contra dance is a type of folk dance for all ages and a social dance. You do not need to bring a partner. There is a beginner’s lesson from 7:30 pm – 8:15 pm which is included in the price of admission. If Glen Echo Park closes due to inclement weather the dance will be canceled. Film: Holden On After succumbing to a secret battle with mental illness, 17-year old Holden devolves from a gregarious, small-town Georgian football player to a lost, self-medicating prophet. The film portrays the complexity of mental illness and suicide in teens, offers insight into prevention, and opens the door to a difficult but necessary conversation. White Flint Placemaking Festival Join Montgomery Parks and Planning for a special initiative to re-imagine part of the Randolph Hills Shopping Center as a lively, dynamic public space and park.
