Unbeatable Resources for Women Entrepreneurs
This week I’m sharing a great opportunity for fellow women entrepreneurs who have recently started their business in the last two years. The Maryland Women’s Business Center is celebrating its tenth year of the Start Right! Business Plan Competition. The deadline to submit an executive summary for consideration is June 5 at 11:50 pm. You still have time! I’m entering the ring to hopefully win $5,000 for my innovative business plan and twist on the geriatric care management/ in-home companion services industry with Blessing Buddies, A Benefit LLC. Check us out at: www.blessingbuddies.org
I welcome good competition and hope you will consider entering the contest, if you are eligible. The Maryland Women’s Business Center located in Rockville offers a wealth of resources for not only women-owned businesses, but for men too. I encourage you to visit their website at www.marylandwbc.org
The Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC) helps Montgomery County’s diverse population start and build successful women-owned enterprises that are positioned for long-term growth in our community.
MWBC conducts training and provides resources for entrepreneurs seeking to start and grow women-owned enterprises in our community.
The MWBC is a first stop along my journey in navigating the plethora of resources for small businesses in the county. What was your first stop in getting started? Share your secrets in the comments and look forward to more posts as I go to each door knocking.

Hi Urrikka, I loved meeting you today and I’m glad I found your blog, too! I have started a number of businesses, and my first stop is usually some form of testing and research to see what might work well in the market. My ‘tests’ usually turn into businesses. My current business, www.strategicshoppingnetwork.com. started out as a practice session for a social media seminar I was taking. I was trying to put what I had learned into practice and…..well here we are!
