Trial Set for MCPD Officer Charged in Aspen Hill Arrest Incident

A trial date for the Montgomery County Police Officer who has been charged for aggressively kneeing a man during an arrest on July 3 at a McDonald’s in Aspen Hill has been set.

Officials with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office say Officer Kevin Moris had a scheduling hearing on Friday. The trial is set to begin on December 3, 2019.

Moris faces a count of second-degree assault and a count of misconduct in office after taking part in the arrest of Arnaldo Pesoa, a Silver Spring man who has been charged with selling psychedelic mushrooms.

Moris is currently on administrative leave from his position as an undercover officer working out of the 4th District police station in Wheaton.
