Translation and Interpretation Institute at Montgomery College (VIDEO)

Hundreds of residents are left out of the conversation when they can’t understand because of language barriers. However, Montgomery College is trying to address this issue by training bilingual interpreters.

“Interpreters are needed in different areas of the community from school system to the police department to firefighters; MVA. So the idea is to have a cohort of students who can volunteer in different agencies,” said Marianela Manana, instructor, Translation and Interpreter Institution.
