Thief Swipes Cash Register from Rockville Business

A thief took a cash register from a business on the 400 block of Lincoln Street, according to the latest Rockville police crime summary.

The complainant said an employee had stepped out for a moment, and during that time someone entered through a front door of the business and took the cash register, the summary says. It occurred between 6:30 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. April 25.

Video surveillance shows the thief removing the register and then leaving through a rear door. The thief is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, medium build, last seen wearing black pants, black shirt, black backpack, and a black baseball cap.

Arrests

On April 23 between 2:35 p.m. and 3 p.m., a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested for second-degree assault after an incident that occurred in the unit block of Courthouse Square.

On April 26, a request was submitted to the Montgomery County Police Department’s Special Victims Investigation Division for a 17-year-old male to be charged with theft, obstructing and hindering a police investigation, and failure to obey a lawful order after an incident in the in the 200 block of Monroe Street.

On April 27 at 5:48 p.m., three men, ages 19, 22, and 29, were arrested for possession of CDS-paraphernalia and possession of CDS-heroin, after an incident in the 12800 block of Falls Road.

On April 28, a request was submitted to the Montgomery County Police Department’s Special Victims Investigation Division for a 16-year-old male to be charged with possession of CDS-paraphernalia and possession of CDS-promethazine codeine cough syrup, after an incident in the 600 block of Veirs Mill Road.

On April 29, request was submitted to the Montgomery County Police Department’s Special Victims Investigation Division for two males, both 16, to be charged with rogue and vagabond and theft, after incidents in the 5900 block of Vandegrift Avenue and 1700 block of Crawford Drive.

On April 29, a request was submitted to the Montgomery County Police Department’s Special Victims Investigation Division for a 16-year-old male to be charged with theft, after an earlier incident that occurred between April 11 and April 12 in the 200 block of Congressional Lane.

On April 30, between 3:53 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., an 18-year-old male was arrested for second-degree assault, after an incident in the unit block of Denfield Court.

Incidents

100 block of Redland Boulevard, the complainant reported that someone removed a laptop and spare change from an unlocked vehicle between 10 p.m. April 24 and 8 a.m. April 25.

100 block of Gibbs Street, someone somehow gained entry through a rear door at a business on April 25 between 3:04 a.m. and 09:10 a.m. Once inside the person took two deposit bags containing cash.
