Takoma Park to Hold Election on November 3rd

The City of Takoma Park is gearing up for election season. On September 29, the city held its caucus and nominated candidates for mayor and city council positions. Jessie Carpenter, the city clerk, said that Mayor Bruce Williams will not seek reelection and nominated Ward 3 councilmember Kate Stewart to run for mayor. Her opponent is Takoma Park resident, Warren Holmes.

Meanwhile, Ward 1 has three candidates running for the council position: Peter Kovar, Victor Thuronyi, Elizabeth Forbes Wallace. All other Ward council positions are uncontested.

The election is set for November 3^rd, where voters will also have the opportunity to vote to change future election dates.
