Comptroller Peter Franchot was in Bethesda on Monday to highlight the state’s tax-free week. Consumers can purchase clothing and footwear that cost less than $100 without paying the Maryland’s 6 percent sales tax. Franchot held a news conference at Sassanova on Bethesda Row.
