Smoke in Building Causes Chevy Chase Library to Close Friday
An overheated motor in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system caused the Chevy Chase Library Branch to close down for the remainder of the day Friday. Fire and rescue crews responded to reports of smoke in the library’s boiler room.
MCFRS spokesperson, Pete Piringer, said the smoke and hazard were removed, but the library will remain close on Friday.
The building was evacuated and no injuries were reported, according to Piringer.
