Silver Spring Woman Killed as She Crossed Georgia Avenue

Claire E. Weissmeyeer Grossman, 63, of Silver Spring was pronounced dead at the scene after she was struck by a car as she was crossing northbound Georgia Avenue April 28.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department, Collision Reconstruction Unit, are investigating the collision that took place at 11:02 p.m. by Rippling Brook Drive in Aspen Hill. Preliminary investigation determined that the 2015 Toyota Camry was going north on Georgia Avenue and struck Weissmeyer.

German Alexis Del Cid Mejia, 19, of Rockville was driving the car. He was not injured.

Collision Reconstruction Unit detectives continue to investigate a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred last night (approx. 11:02 pm) in the area of Georgia Ave. & Rippling Brook Dr. An adult female succumbed to injuries at the scene.
