Silver Spring Transit Center Update Set for Sept. 10
The Montgomery County Council will receive an update on Sept. 10 at 1:45 p.m. about remediation plans for the Silver Spring Transit Center.
General Services Director David Dise will present the status report to the Council on the Silver Spring Transit Center. Representatives of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (WMATA) also are scheduled to be present.
The center has been delayed due to construction problems and differing opinions on remediation plans that are being considered.
The worksession on the transit center, and the Council’s regular weekly session that will begin at 9:45 a.m., will be held in the Third Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville. Both sessions, including seven public hearings scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM—Cable Channel 6 on Comcast and RCN, Channel 30 on Verizon). The broadcast also will be streamed through the County Web site.

UPDATED: Montgomery County Settles Suit Over Silver Spring Transit Center
