Silver Spring Man Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison on Child Pornography Charges
A Silver Spring man has been sentenced to federal prison on child pornography charges.
Anjan Ghosh Tagore, 48, will spend 15 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography as well as 18 months in federal prison for violating his supervised release on a previous conviction.
After his initial child pornography charge, Tagore entered a plea agreement that allowed his probation officer access to his software system. Through monitoring Tagore’s search history authorities were able to see he had viewed images of child pornography.
After further investigation, Tagore revealed having USB drives and Micro SD cards all containing explicit images of children, including a depiction of at least one infant or toddler.
In addition to his sentence, Tagore will pay $3,000 in restitution to a child pornography victim, will be on lifetime supervised release and will be a registered sex offender wherever he lives or works.
