Georgetown Prep released a statement on its Facebook page confirming that the light and pole outside of the campus’ entrance was damaged. The statement also told the Prep community to expect delays as the light and pole undergo construction.
Piringer said on Twitter that seven people were taken to the hospital in total — four of whom are being treated for trauma.
A spokesperson for Montgomery County Police Department told MyMCMedia that there haven’t been any casualties from the accident.
The accident caused significant delays on the Pike, but all travel lanes on MD-355 reopened before 4 p.m.
