Seven-Vehicle Crash in Germantown Sends Several to Hospital

 

A crash involved seven vehicles Tuesday evening in Germantown, Montgomery County police said.

About 6:12 p.m., officers, and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to Middlebrook Road and Great Seneca Highway, finding a westbound 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee had crashed into a 2014 Toyota Prius, a 2007 Dodge Charger, a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, a 2009 Toyota Camry, a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a 2012 Honda Civic, which were all stopped at the red signal on westbound Middlebrook Road at Great Seneca Highway, police said.

Police identified the driver of the 2002 Grand Cherokee as Lawrence Russellffer Reid, 43, of Woodfield Road, Damascus.  Reid was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said. Both passengers in the Grand Cherokee, a 36-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy, also were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the Prius is being identified as Serguei Viatkine Paulovich, 62, of Walnut Cove Circle, Germantown.  Paulovich and the 69-year-old female passenger were not injured in the collision, police said.

The driver of the Charger is being identified as Thierno Abdoulaye Fofana, 41, of Rhinestone Drive, Germantown.  Fofana was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.  Both passengers, a 2-year-old girl and a 11-month-old boy also were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Police identified the driver of the Pathfinder as Luis Alberto Giron, 40, of Cherry Bend Court, Germantown.  Giron was not injured in the collision, police said.

The driver of the Camry is being identified as Steven Alvin Vaughn, 58, of Hillard Street, Poolesville, police said. Vaughn was not injured in the collision.

Police identified the driver of the 2016 Grand Cherokee as Renee Maria Tankir, 38, of Nightingale Street, Gaithersburg.  Tankir was not injured in the collision, police said.

The driver of the Civic is being identified as Robert James Kellar III, 38, of Horseshoe Bend Circle, Clarksburg, police said.  Kellar was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
