Santa Ride Will Benefit Children’s Inn at NIH

It’s that time of year where for one day, Santa will trade in his sleigh for Harley-Davidson motorcycle during the Montgomery County Police Department’s annual Santa Ride.

Each year, the police department joins Santa as his motor officer elves as they travel throughout the county on their motorcycles to collect gifts and donations from local businesses and organizations for the children and families at The Children’s Inn at NIH (National Institutes of Health).

When the motor officers arrive to the Inn, they help the children choose presents for their family members at a gift shop, according to a news release.

The Department invites residents to donate this year at any of the predetermined locations listed below on Dec. 13:

Schedule: 

  • 10:00 a.m. 5th District (Germantown) Station, 20000 Aircraft Drive, Germantown
  • 10:05 a.m. Upcounty Regional Services Center, 12900 Middlebrook Road, Germantown
  • 10:45 a.m. Kentlands Market Square By Starbucks, 121 Market Street, Kentlands
  • 11:15 a.m. Public Safety Headquarters Edison Park Drive, Gaithersburg
  • LUNCH
  • 2:30 p.m Fair Hill Plaza – Olney Town Center, 18169 Town Center Drive, Olney
  • 3:10 p.m. Ellsworth Drive near Starbucks, 915 Ellsworth Drive, Silver Spring
  • 3:50 p.m. Veteran’s Park, Intersection of Woodmont and Norfolk Avenues
  • 4:30 p.m.The Children’s Inn at NIH, Private event – Patients only
