Rockville Police Seek Cell Phone Thief

Police are looking for a thief who stole two cell phones from a business in the 1600 block of Rockville Pike, the latest Rockville City police crime summary says.

According to the summary, someone entered the business between 2:52 p.m. and 2:53 p.m. May 12. The person then proceeded to a display, where he forcibly removed two cell phones, police said. The thief then fled the store and was last seen running north on Rockville Pike.

The perpetrator is described as approximately 24 years old, 5 feet 11 inches, 170 pounds, thin build, brown eyes, short black hair, mustache, goatee, medium dark brown skin tone, and last seen wearing black wool winter cap, blue jeans and gray hooded jacket.

Arrests

On May 7 at 1:34 a.m., a 31-year-old man was arrested for violating an ex-parte/protection order, after an incident that occurred in the 100 block of King Farm Boulevard.

On May 8 between 6:56 a.m. and 7:01 a.m., a 27-year-old man was arrested for trespassing and disorderly conduct, after an incident that occurred in the 700 block of Rockville Pike.

On May 8 between 5:50 p.m. and 5:55 p.m., a 24-year-old male, and an 18-year-old woman were arrested for second-degree assault, after an incident that occurred in the 1000 block of Edmonston Drive.

On May 8 between 7:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m., an 18-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment, after an incident that occurred in the 1800 block of Rockville Pike.

On May 9 between 10:09 p.m. and 10:25 p.m., a 29-year-old man was arrested for possession of CDS-paraphernalia and possession of CDS-cocaine; and a female, age 21, was arrested for possession of CDS-paraphernalia and possession of CDS-Clonazepam, after an incident that occurred in the 100 block of Virginia Drive.

Incidents

700 block of Azalea Drive, a complainant reported that someone removed jewelry, a wallet and credit cards from a home between April 29 and May 8.

200 block of North Stonestreet Avenue, someone gained entry into an office through an unlocked front door between 6 p.m. May 5 and 9 a.m. May 9. Once inside, a locked closet was entered by unknown means and clothing was taken.

1500 block of Rockville Pike, a complainant reported that someone removed a vehicle between 8:34 p.m. May 7 and 4 p.m. May 9.

Between South Stonestreet Avenue and Croydon Avenue, a complainant reported that while riding a bus, someone removed a cell phone from his pocket at 9:12 p.m. May 8.

5900 block of Ridgway Avenue, a complainant reported that someone removed cash and credit/debit cards from a purse that was in an unsecured classroom closet on May 9 between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

700 block of Rockville Pike, a complainant reported that an unsecured cell phone was taken from a storage bin at a recreational facility between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. May 10.
