Rockville Hosts ‘Frozen Lemonade Cup’ Fundraiser for Childhood Cancer Research

On Saturday, the Rockville Ice Arena held the ‘Frozen Lemonade Cup’ to raise money for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).

The Frozen Lemonade Cup is an annual youth ice hockey event where children ages 7-12 play in a tournament to raise funds for the ALSF. The event featured players from Washington D.C., Philidelphia and Boston. Last year the event raised $60,000.

The ALSF is a national organization that funds pediatric cancer research. The foundation started by Alexandra “Alex” Scott, diagnosed with neuroblastoma, managed to raise $2000 from her lemonade stand. When Scott passed away at just eight years old she had raised $1 million.
