Rockville Crime Summary for Week Ending June 29

Arrests

On June 25 between 11:18 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., a 71-year-old man was arrested for possession of CDS-crack cocaine after an incident that occurred in the 16000 block of Shady Grove Road.

On June 28 between 11:17 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., a 26-year-old man was arrested for trespassing, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct after an incident that occurred in the 800 block of Rockville Pike.

On June 28 at 2:19 p.m., a 54-year-old man was arrested on a warrant for motor vehicle theft, unauthorized removal of property, and theft after an earlier incident that occurred between June 4 and June 6 in the 1600 block of Crawford Drive.

Incidents

1400 block of Langbrook Place, the complainant reported that someone removed a purse containing cash, credit/debit cards, a driver’s license and miscellaneous papers from a vehicle between 6:45 p.m. June 24 and 10 a.m. June 25.

1500 block of Rockville Pike, the complainant reported that a man entered the business on June 27 between 9:50 a.m. and 9:52 a.m. The complainant stated that he began to follow the man because of his previous behavior while in the store. The man confronted the complainant and then assaulted him. The man then fled on foot out of the store. The suspect is described as about 35 years old, 6 feet tall, 195 pounds, medium build, brown eyes, short black hair, beard, medium skin tone, last seen wearing a white T-shirt, white shorts and white sneakers.

200 block of Reading Terrance, someone tried to gain entry into a residence by trying to pry open a rear window on June 27 at 4:39 p.m. No entry was made.

5900 block of St. Lo Avenue, the complainant reported that someone removed a pair of designer sunglasses from a vehicle between 1:30 p.m. June 28 and 7:50 a.m. June 29.

1500 block of Rockville Pike, the complainant reported that four people entered the business on June 28 at 5:10 p.m. One person removed four tote bags and began filling them with several body wash products. The person then fled the store. On June 28 at 5:22 p.m., police received a complaint in the 1800 block of Rockville Pike for four people who entered the business carrying four tote bags. The suspects began removing several laundry detergent products, as well as several bottles of body wash. The people fled the store toward the Twinbrook Metro Station. The suspects are described as:

  • 5 feet, 9 inches tall, thin build, brown eyes, short black hair, dark brown skin tone, last seen wearing white T-shirt with black on top of shoulders and black jeans;
  • 5 feet, 9 inches tall, thin build, brown eyes, short black hair, dark brown skin tone, last seen wearing black sunglasses, white shorts and black shirt;
  • 5 feet, 9 inches tall, thin build, brown eyes, black afro, medium brown skin tone, last seen wearing black jeans and red shirt; and
  • 5 feet, 9 inches tall, thin build, brown eyes, short black hair, light brown skin tone, last seen wearing blue jeans, black shirt.

300 block of Martins Lane, the complainant reported that while she was in the pool, three people removed a cell phone from her unattended belongings on June 29 between 6:20 p.m. and 6:36 p.m. The people are described as:

  • 5 feet, 6 inches tall, thin build, brown eyes, short black hair, dark brown skin tone;
  • 5 feet, 6 inches tall, thin build, brown eyes, short black hair, dark brown skin tone;
  • 5 feet, 6 inches tall, heavy build, short black hair.
