Rockville City Police Are Looking for a Tip Jar Thief

Someone took a tip jar containing cash from a business in the 800 block of Rockville Pike, Rockville police report in its weekly crime summary. The incident took place at 7:40 p.m. Friday. Police are looking for a man about 40-50 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 180 pounds, medium build, graying facial stubble and last seen wearing dark shoes with white on toes and soles, dark blue baseball cap, black sweat pants, black Adidas sweatsuit with three white stripes on the sleeve and logo on left breast pocket.

Arrests

On April 9 between 10:05 p.m. and 10:22 p.m., a 29-year-old man was arrested for three counts of second-degree assault and one count of reckless endangerment after an incident that occurred in the 300 block of Dawson Avenue.

On April 10 at 7:14 p.m., a 33-year-old man was arrested for first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, theft, possession of concealed dangerous weapon (knife), disorderly conduct and impersonating a police officer after an incident that occurred in the 200 block of Rockville Pike.

On April 11 between 2:44 p.m. and 3:44 p.m., a 24-year-old man was arrested for possession of CDS-marijuana and possession of CDS-amphetamine after an incident that occurred in the unit block of Waddington Lane.

On April 11 between 5:22 p.m. and 5:25 p.m., a 20-year-old man was arrested for possession of CDS-heroin and possession of CDS-paraphernalia after an incident that occurred in the 600 block of Aster Boulevard.

On April 12 between 5:22 p.m. and 5:40 p.m., a 27-year-old man was arrested for fourth-degree burglary and trespassing after an incident that occurred in the 300 block of South Horners Lane.

On April 14 between 2:14 p.m. and 3 p.m., a 23-year-old man was arrested for second-degree assault and trespassing after an incident that occurred in the 400 block of College Parkway.

Incidents

500 block of Edmonston Drive, the complainant reported that someone removed an unsecured lawnmower and a grass catcher from a yard, between 3 p.m. Dec. 12 and 5:16 p.m. April 10.

200 block of Monroe Street, someone gained entry by prying a rear door to an office suite, between 9:30 a.m. April 9 and 6:30 p.m. April 10. Nothing was taken.

200 block of Congressional Lane, the complainant reported that someone removed cash from a locked vehicle, between 3 p.m. April 11 and 8 a.m. April 12.

600 block of Elmcroft Boulevard, the complainant reported that someone removed a vehicle, between 8:30 p.m. April 14 and 9 a.m. April 15.

Correction

Rockville police report it incorrectly reported that an incident occurred on Rollins Avenue.  The corrected item should be:

On March 19 at 3:41 p.m., a 44-year-old man was arrested for making a false statement to a police officer after an incident that occurred in the 1500 block of East Jefferson Street.
