Rockville Baseball to Celebrate 60 Years of Opening Days
The Rockville Baseball Association will celebrate its 60th anniversary with opening day festivities featuring players, coaches and invited dignitaries on April 12.
The ceremony starts at 9 a.m. at Walter Johnson Field at Dogwood Park featuring the National Anthem sung by Linda Colbert, remarks by RBBA President Dick Clark, an introduction of past presidents, awards for volunteer service and remarks by Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton who will throw a ceremonial first pitch.
As one of Montgomery County’s oldest youth baseball organizations, RBBA serves boys and girls ages 8-18 in Instructional, Pee Wee, Midget, Junior and Senior divisions. RBBA offers neighborhood and school teams. Local businesses or individuals sponsor all teams, helping to keep league fees among the lowest in the area. The nonprofit organization is run entirely by volunteers.
