Residential Burglaries in North Bethesda Investigated

Bethesda police district detectives continue to investigate five residential burglaries in the Luxmanor area of North Bethesda that occurred in an 11-hour timespan in close proximity to each other, police said.

Police believe the same two men committed the burglaries.

Between 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, and 7 a.m. Thursday, March 15, the men entered five unlocked homes and stole property, police said. The homes were in the 6100 block of Tilden Lane and in the 6100 block of Roseland Drive.

A surveillance camera at one of the Tilden Lane homes captured the men entering the home.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about the burglaries is asked to call the Bethesda district Investigative Section at 240-773-6710. Tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online.

Thefts From Vehicles Summary:

Bethesda District:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between March 12 and March 16. Affected streets included Maple and Ridgewood avenues, Beechwood Drive, Barbados Place, Antigua Terrace and Randolph Road. Force was reported in one event; cash property was taken.

Silver Spring District:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between March 12 and March 16. Affected streets included Clark Place, Providence Avenue, Normandy Drive, Fairview Road, Holman Avenue, and Melbourne Avenue. No force; cash and property were taken.

Wheaton District:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between March 15 and March 19. Affected streets included Amherst and Georgia avenues, Windham and Sherrie lanes, and Veirs Mill Road. Force was reported in multiple events; cash and property were taken.

Germantown District:

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between March 13 and March 15. Affected streets included Rockingham Road, Buskin Lane and Gate Dancer Lane. No force; cash and property were taken.

Montgomery Village District:

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between March 17 and March 19. Affected streets included Market Street West, Sioux Lane and Crystal Court. No force; cash, property, and vehicle parts were taken.

Other incidents:

Rockville District:

A residential shed burglary occurred in the 1000 block of Gilbert Road between about 1 p.m. March 16 and about 11 a.m. March 17. No signs of forced entry, the shed door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Thomas Somerville Co. at 15901 Somerville Drive in the early morning hours of March 20. Forced entry; cash and property were taken.

Bethesda District:

Police arrested a 21-year-old Silver Spring man and a 19 year-old Rockville man in the theft of a vehicle in the 7600 block of Rossdhu Court about 5:25 a.m. March 14. No force; the vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with the keys inside. Two suspects were arrested.

A vehicle theft occurred in the 9000 block of Levelle Drive between about 12 a.m. and about 7:30 a.m. March 14. Unknown entry. The vehicle was recovered March 15.

Silver Spring District:

A residential burglary occurred in the 8000 block of 13th Street about 8:18 a.m. March 17. No force, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; nothing was taken.

A residential garage burglary and theft from vehicle occurred at the same home in the 1100 block of Woodside Parkway between about 5 p.m. March 13 and about 2 p.m. March 14. No force, the garage and vehicle were both reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Police seek three teenagers for a commercial armed robbery at the CVS pharmacy at 9520 Georgia Ave. about 11:17 a.m. March 18. One teen displayed a weapon and assaulted an adult male employee. The teens stole medications.

A residential burglary occurred in the 10000 block of Leafy Avenue between about 7 a.m. and about 4:05 p.m. March 20. Forced entry; property was taken.

Police arrested three teenagers from Silver Spring — one 16, one 18 and one 19 — for aggravated assault occurred in the 800 block of University Boulevard East about 10:29 p.m. March 21. One teen displayed a weapon.

A residential burglary occurred in the 3100 block of Gracefield Road between about 5:45 p.m. and about 7 p.m. March 14. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

Police seek a man and woman, both 19, for an armed robbery of a cab driver in the area of Amberstone Court and Old Columbia Pike about 9 p.m. March 21. One suspect displayed a weapon. They took the adult male driver’s cash.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Bedding Barn at 15595 Old Columbia Pike between about 7:30 p.m. March 18 and about 8:30 a.m. March 19. Forced entry; cash was taken.

Wheaton District:

Police seek a man, about 35 to 45, for a strong-arm robbery in the area of East Randolph Road and Tamarack Road about 6:30 a.m. March 8. The man assaulted a woman and took her cash and property.

A vandalism occurred at Greenwood Elementary School at 3336 Gold Mine Road between about 9:30 p.m. March 13 and about 12:15 p.m. March 14.

A 22-year-old Mount Airy man was arrested for a vehicle theft in the 3400 block of Hewitt Avenue in the early morning hours of March 13. Force; the vehicle was recovered March 14.

A residential burglary occurred in the 2700 block of Urbana Drive between about 9:30 a.m. and about 8 p.m. March 18. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

Police arrested two Silver Spring men — one 35 and one 43 — for a residential burglary in the 2300 block of Blueridge Avenue about 9:54 p.m. March 14. Forced entry; nothing was taken. Two suspects were arrested.

Germantown District:

A residential burglary occurred in the 23100 block of Yellowwood Drive about 3:21 p.m. March 18. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

Vehicle thefts occurred in the following areas:

  • In the 19700 block of Germantown Road between about 9 a.m. and about 1 p.m. March 16. Unknown entry.
  • In the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive between about 10 p.m. March 16 and about 12 p.m. March 17. No force, the keys were reported to have been left inside the vehicle.

A residential burglary and theft from vehicle occurred at the same home in the 14200 block of Bear Creek Drive about 8 p.m. March 15. No signs of forced entry, the suspect(s) used the vehicle keys found in the house to unlock and enter the vehicle; property was taken.

Montgomery Village District:

A commercial burglary occurred at the Housing Opportunity Commission at 17825 Washington Grove Lane between about 3:30 p.m. March 15 and about 3:45 p.m. March 16. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

Police seek two men, of unknown ages, for an aggravated assault in the 18200 block of Lost Knife Circle in the early morning hours of March 17. One man displayed a weapon.

Police seek a woman for a commercial burglary at the Jasmine Bakery Café at 18503 N. Frederick Ave. about 10:52 p.m. March 20. Forced entry; cash was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 18700 block of Blue Violet Lane about 11:22 a.m. March 19. Forced entry; property was taken.
