Regional Summit on Homelessness
Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett, Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, and Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker are scheduled to convene a summit on regional approaches to homelessness at a Silver Spring homeless facility March 17.
They will be joined by other leaders and experts in the fights against homelessness. The three jurisdictions will highlight their current initiatives and plan for future collaboration. The meeting is from 10 a.m. to noon.
The facility, Progress Place, is owned by Montgomery County and is the site for meals provided by Shepherd’s Table and support services provided by Community Vision, as well as serving as an overflow winter shelter. Progess Place is at 8210 Dixon Ave.
