Quince Orchard Baseball – 4A West Region Champs (PHOTOS)

Quince Orchard (QO) pushed 3 runs across in the 4th inning and held on in their 4A West regional playoff  winner-take-all match against Bethesda Chevy-Chase (BCC).  QO hosted the Barons on a bright sunny Friday afternoon as the game was moved up to a 2 p.m. start time to accommodate the Cougars on their prom night.  The final score was 3-1.

The win advances the Cougars to the semi-final rounds to be played at the University of Maryland’s Shipley Field in College Park on May 24th.  The Cougars will face the Raiders of Leonardtown who are the winners of the 4A East region.  Leonardtown defeated Severna Park 5-3 on Friday.

Quince Orchard’s road to the semi-finals included wins over Wootton, Kennedy, Gaithersburg (last year’s state champion) and BCC.

Here are a few views of the sunny action from this regional final in Gaithersburg.
