Quicken Loans National: Views from Day 1 (PHOTOS)

QuickenLoans National at Congressional Country Club

QuickenLoans National at Congressional Country Club

Tiger Woods Foundation along with their signature golfing event, the Quicken Loans National, returned to Congressional Country Club in Bethesda for its annual tournament. Today’s pre-tournament events circled around pro warm-ups and fans casually viewing their favorite pros.

Many familiar features can again be found here at Congressional and they include the “We Salute Our Heroes” signature wall, concessions by named brands like Grey Goose, Main Street with Kid Activities and of course signature food tents.

New to this year’s event at Congressional is the “Shot For Heroes” hole set up on the parallel fairway to the famous 18th hole. Expectations are high for a chance to raise monies to benefit Operation Homefront and the Tiger Woods Foundation.

Of course my favorite is the food and we have great chefs all around the course. Today I caught up with Congressional Executive Chef Joe Piazza at the Heroes Wall.  I also caught up with Prom/Levy’s Executive Chef Jason Drysdale at the Quicken Loans Hole-In-One House. Both chefs are serving up great summer fare.

Here are a few photos that capture that relaxed atmosphere at Congressional before the action begins later this week.
