Quicken Loans National – 2nd Round (PHOTOS)
Bethesda, MD: Heat and pleasant humidity [really!] is the order of the day as the crowds began to filter into Congressional Country Club for the Quicken Loans National. At this moment, fist round leader and rookie Jon Rohm has yet to tee off but when he does he will find VJ Singh one up on him. Under par rounds can be expected as the rain saturated greens are holding well for those pros who can hit and hold near the pins. From a look at the media leader boards the 2nd and 9th holes seem to provide the greatest challenge on the front side. While on the back 9, the par 4 18th hole always seems to catch a few, especially those who cut it left and find the water.
On the social front, Friday started with growing crowds and lots of children with parents tagging along. For those adults who walk the course many were seen holding blue and red aluminum beer bottles. The back entrance known as Main Street near the 16th green and 17th tee box was popular with the USO tent front and center along Main. The Washington National’s Racing Presidents made their #DeclareYourDay appearance along the cart paths and were a hit where ever they traveled.
If you are still making plans for the weekend the weather forecast looks promising to spend a few hours walking around this classic summer event for the DVM.
