Power Outage in Rockville Impacts 1,600 Pepco Customers

Image of Pepco truck door with Pepco logoA power outage in Rockville impacted 1,600 Pepco customers, including several city of Rockville facilities, shortly before lunch on May 5.

Marcus Beal, media relations manager for Pepco, said the outage was caused by a transformer issue in Rockville. He said Pepco received the first report at 10:40 a.m. and by 11 a.m. crews were on the scene making repairs.

Beal said the transformer was replaced and power was restored by 12:40 p.m. today.

According to Pepco’s online outage maps, there are several scattered outages in Montgomery County today. At 1:40 p.m., the maps indicated 47 customers were without power in Montgomery County.
