Police Warn Residents to Lock Their Vehicles

Rising Gas Prices page featured on Montgomery Community MediaMontgomery County Police are warning residents to lock their vehicle doors, especially when stopping at area gas stations.

Just today, police said a vehicle was stolen from an Exxon station at 8670 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. How did it happen? Police said the victim left the keys in the vehicle while going to pay for the gas.

Over the last two months, police have responded to ten thefts from vehicles, four stolen vehicles and one attempted stolen vehicle and all these reports occurred at area gas stations.

Police are advising residents to take your keys and lock your doors.
