Police Respond to Bomb Threat at Albert Einstein High School
Dismissal from Albert Einstein High School was delayed following a bomb threat sent by email to school staff about an explosive device outside of the building.
Montgomery County police responded to the school early afternoon, according to MCPS spokersperson Derek Turner.
Police confirmed on Twitter that “no threat was located.”
This is the first threat made to Albert Einstein but Turner did point out an increase of threats in the last few weeks in wake of a school shooting in Florida that left 17 people dead.
“MCPS is working with police and committed to ensuring the safety of our students,” he said.
Turner said parents should pay close attention to messages from MCPS versus other social media accounts.
“The problem with social media is people share rumors and share them as facts,” Turner said.
This afternoon, Albert Einstein High School received a bomb threat. The school is currently on lockdown and county police are at the school conducting a thorough search. Dismissal will be delayed. We will provide an update once we receive additional information from police.
