Police Release Video to Help Nab Bethesda Beer and Wine Burglar

The Woodmont Market Beer and Wine store in Bethesda was burglarized recently and Montgomery County police are releasing surveillance video in hopes that the public can help identify the culprit.

Police responded about 2:50 a.m. Sept. 17 to the store, which is at 8227 Woodmont Ave., after an alarm sounded, according to a police statement. The front glass door to the business had been shattered, police said.

Store video surveillance showed a man using a wooden pole to shatter the glass to the front door and enter the business at about 2:36 a.m., police said. The man took several bottles of wine and fled, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this burglary is asked to contact the 2nd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6710.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of the suspects.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
