Police released surveillance video Tuesday of a commercial burglary at the Jerry’s Subs and Pizza in Burtonsville in hopes the public can help identify him.

About 3:45 a.m. July 26, Silver Spring District officers responded to the restaurant at 15547 Old Columbia Pike, according to a police statement. Responding officers discovered that the rear door to the restaurant had been forced open and that entry was made into the business, police said.

Investigators reviewed restaurant video surveillance that showed the burglar inside the restaurant about 3:38 a.m., police said. Detectives have determined that the burglar used a power tool to cut a hole in the restaurant’s safe. The perpetrator took cash from the safe and fled, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this burglary is asked to contact the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240.773.6870. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of the suspects.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
