Police Release Surveillance Photo in Silver Spring Sexual Assault

Montgomery County police are hoping someone can identify a man in a surveillance photograph who is wanted in connection with a March sexual assault of a 16-year-old Ride On passenger.

The victim said that about 3:35 p.m. March 6 she and a man boarded the Ride On bus in the 10100 block of Colesville Road in Silver Spring. On the bus, the man sat next to the victim and sexually assaulted her, police said.

The victim and the assailant left the bus after a scheduled stop on Colesville Road near Spring Street in Silver Spring, police said.

After leaving the bus, the assailant followed the victim and then sexually assaulted her again in the 700 block of Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring, police said.

The victim reported that the perpetrator stopped the assault and fled when he heard someone approaching, police said.

The next day, she told the school resource officer at Montgomery Blair High School.

Anyone who recognizes the person in the photo or who has information about the incident is asked to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400. Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to an arrest.
