Police Locate Missing Derwood Mother and Child (PHOTO)

UPDATED Feb. 6 Police report that Tynisha and Elijah Owens have been located safe and unharmed in South Carolina.

ORIGINAL Feb. 5  Montgomery County police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing Derwood mother and her son.

Police say, Tynisha Rashon Owens, age 24, and her 11-month-old son, Elijah Owens, were last seen on the morning of Feb. 4 at around 6:30 a.m.

Police describe Owens as a black female 5’6″ tall, 139 pounds, with black eyes and short black hair. Police say Owens was last seen wearing a navy colored pea coat and black UGG boots. Police describe Elijah Owens as a black male with black hair, and brown eyes.

Police and family are concerned for the welfare of Owens and her son. According to police, Tynisha Owens functions at the level of a 14-year-old.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Tynisha Owens and Elijah Owens is asked to call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301.279.8000 (24 hour line).
