UPDATE: Male Teen Shot Sunday in Downtown Silver Spring
Update (12:13 p.m.): Montgomery County Police released a statement about the shooting incident that occurred on the 900 block of Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring Sunday.
According to police, when officers responded to calls about the shooting at around 5:50 p.m., they located a 15-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. The teen was taken to the hospital and his wounds were determined to be not life-threatening, police say.
Investigators say that the boy had been with a group of males that got in a dispute in the area of 933 Ellsworth Drive. Witnesses told police that the dispute resulted in shots fired and the boy was injured.
Police say the incident doesn’t appear random. Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Silver Spring District Investigation Section at 240-773-6870. People can also leave anonymous tips about the incident by calling the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).

Dispatch received multiple calls about a shooting on the 900 block of Ellsworth Drive shortly before 6:00 p.m. according to officials.
An male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the shooting does not appear to be a random act, and this is an ongoing investigation.
