Police Investigating Shooting, Carjacking in Bel Pre

Montgomery County police say they are investigating a shooting, an armed robbery and carjacking that took place about 4 p.m. Thursday in Bel Pre.

A police statement said multiple 911 calls reported a robbery at 14200 block of Pear Tree Lane.

Officers found two victims on the side of the roadway of Pear Tree Lane; one was suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body, police said.

The victims said at least two men approached them. At least one of the men threatened the victims with a handgun and one was shot, police said.

After the shooting, the culprits fled in a black, Hyundai Sonata that belongs to one of the victims, police said.

Fire and rescue personnel responded and took the shooting victim to a local hospital; he has non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said the investigation continues. More details will be released as it becomes confirmed, police said.
