Police Investigate Armed Robbery in Silver Spring; Suspects Took Victim’s Car Keys and Vehicle
Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department continue to investigate an armed robbery in downtown Silver Spring that happened in August. They say three male suspects stole a man’s car keys and took his vehicle.
On August 27, shortly before 10:00 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery on the 8800 block of Colesville Road. The 61-year-old male victim reported that he was entering his apartment building when the three suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, confronted him. The suspects got away with the victim’s property, including his car keys. The suspects then located the victim’s vehicle in a nearby parking lot and fled the area in the car.
According to an MCPD press release, the victim’s car was located unoccupied in Southeast Washington, D.C, on 22nd Street on August 28.
Investigators released surveillance video of the three suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them:
