Police Investigate Hate Incident in Chevy Chase

mc police car for slider 450x280Montgomery County police are investigating a hate crime that occurred at a residence in the 3300 block of Glenmoor Drive in Chevy Chase this holiday weekend.

Police said a racial epithet was spray painted on the home’s garage door.

According to a police account of the incident, at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Monday, a neighbor noticed racial wording spray painted on a garage door. The neighbor notified the resident and assisted the victim in removing the spray paint, police said. The vandalism is believed to have occurred sometime between 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 18 and 7 a.m today.

Police said the Department has not received any additional reports of vandalism or malicious destruction from neighborhood residents.
