
Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Columbia Pike in White Oak
UPDATED Montgomery County police officers are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred shortly after 6 a.m. on Thursday along Columbia Pike (U.S. Route 29) south of New Hampshire Avenue in the White Oak area of Silver Spring.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian, identified as 18-year-old Michelle Sena Hoyah of Rockville, was crossing Route 29 between New Hampshire Avenue and Oak Leaf Drive.
According to police, a Toyota Camry was traveling south on Route 29 when it struck Hoyah in the traffic lanes. According to police, Hoyah was transported to Holy Cross Hospital where she died from her injuries.
