Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Montgomery Village
A 35-year-old man was struck and killed early Saturday morning at the intersection of Goshen Road and East Village Drive in Montgomery Village, according to Montgomery County Police.
Police said they were notified of the incident at approximately 1:22 a.m. on March 7.
The pedestrian, identified by police as Osmin de Jesus Montano Carrillo of Montgomery Village, was found unconscious in the roadway and was transported to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital where, police said, he died from his injuries.
According to police, the white, 2015 Volkswagen Jetta believed to be involved in this incident was located on a nearby street.
Police have identified the driver as 18-year-old Helen Rommel of Laytonsville. Police said Rommel was taken into custody and provided a breath sample for analysis. Police said any charges will be determined pending the outcome of the investigation.
