Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Rockville
Montgomery County police officers are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred before noon on Friday at the intersection of Norbeck Road and Westbury Road in Rockville.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that a 2012 silver BMW 535i was making a left turn from eastbound Norbeck Road on to Westbury Road when it collided with a yellow 2005 Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle that was traveling westbound on Norbeck Road.
The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Medstar Montgomery Medical Center where he died from his injuries. Police have identified him as Jarret Thomas Harman, age 19, of Brookeville.
Police identified the driver of the BMW as John Warren Fairbanks, age 83, of Rockville. Police said he was not injured in the crash.
The collision remains under investigation, according to police.
