Police Investigate Fatal Crash in Poolesville Area

Montgomery County Police Department tweeted that they are investigating a fatal vehicle collision that occurred in the Poolesville area on Wednesday afternoon.

Capt. Tom Jordan, a spokesperson for MCPD, confirmed to MyMCMedia that one person has died in the crash. However, Jordan couldn’t yet confirm how many others may have been involved or affected by the collision.

Pete Piringer, the spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services tweeted after 3 p.m. that MCFRS rescue personnel were evaluating two people for traumatic injuries.

According to Piringer’s tweets, the collision involved a pickup truck loaded with sod. Piringer tweeted that one person was “pinned/trapped” as a result of the collision

Two vehicles were involved in the collision, which was located near Seneca Road and River Road.

MCPD is continuing to investigate the collision. As part of the investigation, police tweeted some roads will be closed.
